DV series centrifugal gas separator is installed to
prevent errors due to gas and air inclusions. It is used in
custody transfer installations for petrol, aviation, and
other hydrocarbons as well as other liquids and
guarantees measurement within permissible tolerances
in the downstream flowmeter.
The DV series consists of a vertical cylinder vessel with
inlet and outlet connections located tangentially.
The automatic float controlled air release valve is
located at the highest point. The sight glass on the
valve housing provides for monitoring of air release
process. the vessel is made in carbon steel.

The liquid enters into the gas separator from the inlet connection; the velocity decrease and the pressure distribution in the rotational flow permits efficient separation of air/gas inclusions from the fluid.
The climb between the entry and exit generates on hydraulic head.
The ample permanence time permits an efficient separation of the air that takes up the upper part; when there is enough air/gas, the sphere on the diaphragm valve is no longer sustained by the fluid and then the air vent valve opens, letting the gas flow out. When the gas is completely vented out, the liquid level raises again sustaining the sphere and thus making the air vent valve close.
